Sage Rehabilitation Hospital is one of Baton Rouge’s premier rehab facilities is currently seeking a Medical Biller / Collector to support billing functions with external billing agencies including federal agencies, insurance carriers and private agencies in order to assure timely reimbursement for services.

Essential daily duties include:

• Review patient account files and ensures their accuracy for appropriate process
• Receives and reviews past due bills and follow up documents
• Prepares and maintains collection related records
• Provide input into the budgetary planning process
• Monitor the status of outstanding accounts and identifies those past due
• Processes refunds to insurance companies for overpaid accounts

Qualifications:

• Previous bookkeeping and varied clerical experience
• General knowledge of purchasing, admissions, billing and collection procedures
• Must be able to use e-mail, voicemail, computers to complete forms, spreadsheets/databases.
• Excellent training and communication skills are required.
• Must be excellent at time management
• Must be able to balance needs of many direct reports
• Requires high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
