Capitol House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is hiring for a Maintenance Helper!

The Maintenance Helper will perform a variety of duties involved in the routine preventative maintenance of nursing home.

Monday - Friday - 10:00am - 6:00pm

License / Certifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have 1-year maintenance experience in medical/hospital maintenance.
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several variables
• Knowledge and some experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry, painting, fire suppression systems, transportation equipment, and other hospital equipment.

Experience / Skills:

• Performs a variety of duties in support of interior and exterior building maintenance
• Assists with repairs to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, fire suppression systems, medical equipment, transportation equipment, and any other hospital equipment as needed.
• Performs preventative maintenance completing monthly maintenance logs
• Performs equipment assembly and troubleshooting as required.
• Assists with routine testing of equipment, alarms, safety systems and other items required to promote a safe environment.
• Supports facilities manager in environmental and safety support activities
• Maintains inventories and orders maintenance supplies.
• Complete exterior building maintenance
• Moves furniture and equipment as needed.
