Part-Time PHYSICAL THERAPIST (PT) NEEDED!

St. Joseph Hospice is seeking PRN Physical Therapists to join our patient care team in the Vicksburg, MS area.

Duties:

• Assist the physician in evaluating the patient’s functional status and physical therapy needs, and assist in the development of the plan of care
• Provide services within the scope of practice as defined by the state laws governing the practice of physical therapy, in the accordance with the plan of care, and in coordination with other members of the health care team
• Observe and report the patient’s response to treatment and any changes in his/her condition to the physician and the supervising registered nurse
• Prepare written summary to the physician
• Guide the patient in the use of therapeutic, creative and self-care activities for the purpose of improving function.

Requirements:

• Must be currently licensed by the State Board of Physical Therapy and have
  graduated from a school with a physical therapy curriculum approved by:
  a. The American Physical Therapy Association; or, The Council on Medical
  Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association; or The Council
  on Medical Education of the American Medical Association and the American
  Physical Therapy Association.
• Have at least one year of experience as PT
• CPR certification
• Excellent patient assessment skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills with an empathetic and people-oriented
  personality
• Knowledge of managed care principles, and regulatory guidelines (i.e., Medicare,
  Medicaid, TJC, ACHC).
• General Computer; Internet; and e-mail skills
