Job Duties:

• Provides speech therapy services, reassessing the patient’s status during each treatment and ensuring quality of care as evidenced in the clinical record.
• Develops, discusses and communicates a plan of care for each patient, in collaboration with each patient/family/significant other in order to address all identified needs
• Demonstrates competence in performance of procedures for medical management according to hospital policy and procedures as it pertains to the rehabilitation department.
• Maintains up-to- date and accurate documentation of speech therapy services provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team, to ensure quality care
• Promotes infection control principles as identified in Hospital policy and procedure
• Complete appropriate discharge planning in a timely manner.

Requirements:

• Current Texas SLP license
• Graduate from an accredited American Speech-Language Hearing Associations program satisfying the ASHA certification, Masters Degree preferred.
• One to two years speech therapy experience, long term acute care and rehabilitation experience is preferred
